Aunt Bee's House

The antique mall Aunt Bee's is a few blocks from my house. I try to only walk through it twice a month to cut down on hauling more things home! Fall is the exception with weekly visits. My buddy phil here is well dressed.
$72 for phil, his ensemble, and the chair he sits in! I thought that was a great deal. Resisted the urge to bring him home.
What really caught my eye was the parasol in his lap. A cute idea for an old dilapidated paraol. A paper patch with skeleton image to cover one hole. Cheap little plastic skeletons to hang from the parasol points. A little more distressing with paint and add some lights. Suspend for a spooky floating paraol. This idea might make an appearance on the porch next Halloween. My very first rental home I had old silk paraols suspended pointing out from the wall with a light source behind. Very dreamy romantic look.

New Target finds

Fern loves her new witch house.
The Threshhold line at Target has some great pieces. Brought home this cute bat appetizer plate.
This animated tombstone is really cute.
This talking knight is well made and would look great with the right lighting.
The little vampire pumpkin has the brightest LED light so I was using it to project the face on the living room wall.

Table and Dishes

The first rainy day in months! Cleaned off the dining room table and started playing with a tabelscape. Not exactaly what I am looking for yet only I do love the lace leaf tablecloth and black velvet runner from HomeGoods. I had velvet pumpkins and acorns and picked up a few more pumpkins at HomeGoods and T.J. Maxx. The candleabras were found at an estate sale this summer. Flying bat battery tapers from World Market Halloween last year.
A sample of finds over the last 2 months on the Dead and Breakfast bar. The vase/untensil jar, spoon rest, bowl, and napkins from HomeGoods. The skeleton plate from T.J.Maxx.
The Nightmare Before Christmas dishes were found at T.J.Maxx. We really needed cereal bowls so the set of 4 came home with me!

My favorite moment while picking out the bowls was an overheard conversation. Young man really excited calling his wife. Guy: Babe, you know those Halloween cups you like? Her: OMG! What color did you find? Guy: Babe, I found both and will bring them home right now! May we all know this kind of love!

Antique Mall Cut Outs

Decoupage pieces by an artist using classic Halloween images. Wall hangers, shelf sitters, and planter boxes. New items to the antique mall and delightful. The cat, the jaunty skeleton, and the owl box came home with me. Really inexpensive at $9.95 to $14.95.

Halloween Fruit

Halloween decorations were flying off the shelves at Target today. The Halloween fruit I can't find on the website so it might be in store only. Oranges, lemons, pears, apples, peppers, and one pinapple. Grabbed the pears for the dead and breakfast bar. I wanted to make scary fruit for the kitchen this year only these guys could be great with a little make over.
My quest was for the lamp posts. Stores only get 3 and they are sold out online. They remind me of Main Street Disneyland at Halloween. Learned this year if you hesitate you will miss out. Bought a pair for my cement stairs landing and they are fabulous. Things are selling out so fast inventory will be gone to share here by October.

Michael's Onlne

Several new items appeared online last week and I nabbed them. Not in my stores. The spiderweb wreath form is heavy duty and looks amazing. Several people online were using them to hang earrings and necklaces. The witch's Kitchen sign looks much better in person with a raised embossed design.
The Come in for a Spell sign looks so good day or night.
The little Sees All Knows all sign is cute! A new item for the fortune telling section. It arrived damaged only I did grab the Witch's Lair Sign too. Distressed looking so the broken bottom piece adds to the look if it sells out before it can be replaced.

Target

This cute little bat pillow was on the shelf today. The last of the garden and back to school has moved out and the store started stocking shelves this week. Not much to show for it yet.
There was only a single Dreadful Daisies out of 2 listed as in stock at this store. I missed out on the Ghoulish Garden line every year so I was pleased to get one! The leaves are felt and bendable.
Food items were the only completely stocked area. Passed on the mini skull waffle iron only the skull and the pumpkin would make wonderful gifts for that spooky someone.
Fern and Ivy are likely to get one of the Halloween cat scratcher houses. There at least 6 designs including the cemetery.  Talked to an employee that said they were pushing to get most of the inventory out in the next 2 days. I went to the store to look for 3 items listed as buy online and pick up in store. None of them were available. He told me Halloween items that came as 6 or more were on stacked pallets or he would have gone and searched them out. Ahh, he is also a Halloween fan.

Vintage Halloween Mask Molds

Vintage mask molds found at this great vintage and antique salvage store. Sheets of plastic were heated and pulled down over the molds to make the vacuform masks many of us wore as kids. The witch is my favorite of the batch!

More Lowe's

Lowe's is fun this year and has better inventory than most stores. This retro owl has spinning eyes, sound, and the head swivels. The owl is too small to make an impact on my porch from a distance so I passed on it. The owl would look good in my entryway. Hmmmm.
This Jack Skellington projector was sold out so all I could see was the floor model. The store was so bright it was hard to see the purple projection. If you are a Nightmare Before Christmas Fan there must be 30 pieces this year at Lowe's.

The little stock Michael's has was picked over as soon as it hit the floor. Like many stores there might be more stock stuck in containers that are stacking up in ports. Short on help to get them unloaded and on trucks. Smaller inventory and high demand this year.

Lucrezia

New grave this year. This one is heavy. Storing it for the year I was crawling around on a raised shelf section of the basment trying to...
