Sadly Horchow has bene stocking less and less Halloween each year. This year the selection is Autumn Celebrations. The black checkerboard pumpkins and the dark velvet pumpkins are a nice touch for those who like black and white Halloween decor. I miss looking at the decadent and expensive Halloween offerings.
StartingSeptember 12th the Halloween apples will be in the Disneyland parks.
Nice selection of spooky tableware and decor including the X-Ray drink glasses. Halloween assortment found at West Elm.
The wall of Martha stuff was so new there were no prices. The price scanner at my store is in the back. Loaded up a basket and scanned to see some prices. A lot of repeat Martha merchandise with a few cool new goodies.
Local store now has all the Halloween on the shelves. Some new Halloween fabrics were added last week. Full line of Martha Stewart Halloween goodies. More photos on the way.
In a cruel twist of fate the Davis household is now in need of assistance. Both Chris and Jeff have lost their jobs. You can read more at Chris's blog here. A Gofundme campaign has been set up to help them get back on their feet until work comes their way. We have all been there at one time. Magazine was released yesterday. Found my copy at Walgreens. Traditional decor mixed with some gorgeous black and white party ideas. So heads up its out there! More images to follow. The release of this magazine every year reminds me to start working on all my Halloween interior decor craft projects. This issue is packed with easy to make projects.
T.J. Maxx set up a floor/table display until they sell more back to school dorm merchandise. Nothing outstanding so far. The skinny round lanterns have a color changing LED inside. Good mix of Yankee Candle jars with scents like Candy Corn. Nothing I had to have as of yet. Picked up some hand towels. Photos of linens next entry.
The much sought after flaming pumpkin has returned to Lowe's and can be ordered on the web site here. Found out after someone on HalloweenForum.com posted my video and the flickr activity went through the roof. Its one of my favorite light up Halloween goodies. We run ours year round. Pumpkin is silent the crackling noise in the back ground on the video is my cat walking on the packing materials.
Ordered mine on line. Two attempts to pick it up. Finally have my Ichabod Flame pumpkin home. The same as last year only this one has a lighter reflective coating so the flame color is not as warm as last years version. Will try to post video of both side by side soon.
Tried to find the original catalog image but couldn't find it in my collection so I scanned the bats.
The bats are from the 2005-2006 season sold wholesale by Cody Foster and Co. made in China. The bats should come with a gold sticker on the hanger thread stating they are made in China. The bats were shipped in stacks so many had the scuffed look of an older piece. The large bat has a 6 inch wing span and the smaller bat has a wing span of 3 1/4 inches. The bats are embossed and have nice detail.
New collectors are often fooled by reproductions and this was a very sad case of over paying for items that originally sold for around $12 a set on the high end in 2006. I sold my Halloween business back in 2010 and no longer have stock of these bats.
The skull clothing hangers at Urban Outfitters have been on my want list. The hangers would look lovely draped with semi sheer fabric hanging along a porch as simple spirits.
Not much to see at JoAnn yet except a few scarecrows and pumpkins. There was the promise of things to come on the display sheets.
Love the walk through videos each year at Rodgers Gardens Halloween display. The little tabletop dress forms with painted rib cages are adorable. I have a child size dress form that might need this treatment.
Toying with making some large cut outs this year in corrugated plastic. Back light the characters. A trio in the lot next door would show up well from the road. Image found here.

Craft project for making fun fur and fleece pumpkins. I'm afraid they would turn in to Halloween tribbles in my hands. All left over fun fur from costume projects gets turned in to tribbles at my house.
Michaels this year has bags of mesh tubing or tubular crinoline. 2 different color bags. 35 yards of 6mm tubing. My bag has black, white, orange, purple, and lime. Running little lights through the tubes creates a diffused light. Its handy for hiding cords on light strings running in to lanterns.
Ethafoam rope threaded in to the crin makes great snakes for a Medusa headdress. Ethafoam is soft so it works well for dancers. Be warned if working on craft projects that cats love this stuff!
