Harvest

This batch is from my pumpkin patch. 8 of the we be little pumpkins are on my kitchen counter. The front right pumpkin is 18 pounds. All the pumpkins get a bleach water bath to help prevent rot. The last 2 pumpkins in the patch are a tear drop shape. The tear drop pumpkins are half way between green and orange.

The head for our scarecrow arrived from Funkin on Monday. Face is taped out. Sneak peek of scarecrow in progress. On the to do list the head needs carving, more tatters added to wardrobe, and then lighting.

Zinio for Halloween Magazines

Having trouble finding your favorite Halloween edition magazines? Zinio has digital copies available of magazines like Better Homes and Gardens Halloween Tricks and Treats. You can preview the contents page plus an additional image from inside the magazine. Zinio also runs $5 for an entire year subscription specials.

This was a disappointing year for magazines for me. Martha was yet another rehash of old content. Better Homes and Gardens was the only paper issue I purchased this year.

Doctor Who at Halloween City

My second love, after Halloween, is Doctor Who. This year both Halloween City and Spirit Halloween stores have small sections of Doctor Who themed costumes. It warms my heart that a once obscure British show is popular in the USA. The Blink Angel mask came home with me. If you Haven't seen Doctor Who, Blink is a highly recommend episode for newbies.

First Day of Fall

Gourd Wagon

Lovely first day of fall here. Moving pumpkins from garden to the front porch. Plotting out which pumpkin patches to visit this year.

Pumpkin with flames at Lowe's

It looks like the pumpkin with flames is back at Lowe's again this year. My store does not have any in stock. Looks like you can still get one if your store has inventory. Check the web site. There is a video this year so you can see it work. Tempted to get another if I can find one.

Tablecloth at Target

New fabric tablecloth at Target. First image is room light and second image is in sunlight. Antique gold images that really pop. My store only had 2 so I nabbed one at the full price of $16.99. My fear was waiting for a sale might mean missing out. Can't find it on Target's web site. Oblong measures 60 X 84 inches.

100% cotton. Every time I wash a fabric table cloth from the Halloween line it loses 50% of the color. Not sure how well this foil gold would hold up. Tempted to try a Woolite hand wash so I can use this for a skirt!

More Target Halloween

Found these really pretty bottles at Target for only $5. You can see the summer stuff on clearance behind them. Gallons of RoundUp behind the poison bottles entertained me.

Terror Tuesday at Target save 25% on $75

2 posts in one day. This couldn't wait! Spend $75 today online on Halloween and get 25% off. Both of my stores are just starting to get stuff out. Found this amazing gravestone today.

Premium Octopus tombstone

Its heavy and gorgeous in person!

Haunted Halloween Radio

Great sound and lights. You use the tuning nob. As you go around the dial it makes static and sounds like you are looking for the next station. Old time news announcer talks about a sighting of Dracula. Its one of the cutest props I've seen.

Bought a lot of the dollar Halloween items. Its probably worth haunting your local store. Looks like some limited items again this year. Will share photos as I get them uploaded.

Halloween at Crate&Barrel

Good offerings this year of Halloween goodies. You can find them all here.

Halloween at Goodwill stores

We have 3 Goodwill stores within easy driving distance. Its fun to see what each store gets for Halloween. Halloween goodies start showing up in August. Goodwill has Halloween items from Target's 2014 merchandise. The smaller stuff treats, paper, and party gets bagged for one price. Usually under $6. Goodwill also stocks a line of generic make-up, masks, and decorations. The third category is what the public donates.

Found this older Hallmark goody.

Motion detector still works and the sound is great.

Scored this great flicker light set that works perfectly. I bought the strand for the bulbs since they are expensive. Several of my older Halloween light sconces use the flicker bulbs.

After Halloween all the goods left get shipped to the Goodwill surplus stores. Then you pay by the pound. Its a free for all digging through the bins at the surplus store with other pickers.

City Flowers Halloween Video Tour

The amount of Halloween goodness this shop packs in to a tiny space is amazing. The black, white, and silver skeletal theme this year looks so elegant.

Pumpkin Patch

Powdery mildew was my nemesis this year. I still had 3 beautiful plants that produced 7 good size pumpkins. 2 are still green and getting bigger by the day. The vine traveled up hill so the green guys are near the top of the first photo. We have some hot weather tomorrow in the upper 90s. We plan to harvest the orange pumpkins this weekend. The vines have died back.

More photos of the garden and Halloween goodies can be found in the 2015 Halloween album on flickr. My posts are fewer this season and I hope to pick up the pace soon. In June I was in a car accident. Physical therapy twice a week is about to drop down to one day a week. Looking forward to more hours of Halloween time.

Tuesday Morning Halloween

Tuesday Morning stores have an eclectic mix of Halloween items. They normally stock crafting supplies. This includes Halloween ribbon, scrapbook paper, and stamps. Christmas was making an aggressive move to take over the shelves. My store still had a nice mix of table decor, figures, pumpkins, and lighting. Tiny little LED battery operated skull lights for $9.99 might need to come home with me. I can see them as a hair or hat decoration. Sadly, I didn't get a photo of the light strand.

Lucrezia

New grave this year. This one is heavy. Storing it for the year I was crawling around on a raised shelf section of the basment trying to...
