Plans

Halloween Lights by JKG II

Found this lovely image and it filled me with a yearning for Halloween. The year is moving quickly and I need to get working on costumes. Theme for Steamcon this year is Around the World not as much fun as last years Victorian monsters. Hard to top that one. No firm plans for this Halloween yet so I haven't settled on what to wear Halloween night.

Back and Forth

My 92 year old grandfather passed last month. My life is flying back and forth between Oregon and California right now to help my grandmother. They were married for 70 years. There is always so much paperwork when someone passes. Heading back down for round 2 of forms to fill out next month and to hire some help for grandma.

Hopefully I will return with more Halloween content this summer.

On the road

Traveling between Morro Bay, California and home right now. 92 year old grandfather is now in a nursing home. He probably only has a few weeks left in this world. Trip next week to try and help the 90 year old grandmother sort through 60 years of accumulation at the house. Taking her to look at assisted living apartments to see what she might like. With any luck we might get to see Winchester Mystery House on the drive back to the airport next Friday. Its not the haunted mansion but we still love the rambling house.

Bats

Paris Opera by dragonflydesignstudio

It wasn't just museums, cathedrals, and a big cemetery. We spent a morning at the Paris Opera House. I couldn't stop humming Masquerade from Phantom of the Opera as we walked down the grand staircase. There were 2 smaller matching reception areas on either end of the grand reception room. One of the rooms had this lovely ceiling with bats. There were many times I wanted to drop on the floor and shoot photos while on my back. Resisted the urge as it was very crowded.

Back

Our first trip to Europe was a success. Our very last day in Paris was spent at Pere Lachaise cemetery. We walked the cemetery for hours and only covered a small portion. Its a must see again to finish the tour.

Lucrezia

New grave this year. This one is heavy. Storing it for the year I was crawling around on a raised shelf section of the basment trying to...
