In the same store as the terra cotta Jack-O-Lanterns I found the cats and dogs. In the decorative outdoor figures. Halloween themed but they walk that line between cute and kind of creepy.

Ross Halloween Decor

On the plus side there are more Day of the Dead items this year. Glitter on just about everything does not make me happy. I like glitter if it makes sense on a decoration. Glitter that has been attached and sealed so it doesn't shed is a must. The trick or treat sign was shedding glitter just looking at it!

Ross had a dog skeleton and spooky hanging bride among its collection of goodies. The store and Halloween section were packed so I didn't take as many photos as usual.

Terracotta Jack-O’-Lanterns

The big terra-cotta lanterns made a return this year with even more shapes and sizes. Local chain store Fred Meyer now owned by Kroger. Gorgeous display at the entrance to the grocery store. I am in love with the big one wearing the witch hat.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Merchandise 2016

Great unboxing video showing the new goodies can be found here. Plotting and planning is in progress for a 2017 trip to Disneyland for Halloween. Illness meant a cancelation last year. We decided to wait until Halloween next year after all the major construction is finished.

Purple Rice Lights

JoAnn has some really bright battery power rice light sets in different colors. 25 lights per strand and the purple is a nice dark purple. First set I have come across that was bright enough to see in daylight and still have a deep color. All the light sets have a test button so you can see what they look like in store.

Great costume potential with these sets. A black tulle veil draped over the lights would give them a soft glow. The second photo was taken on a cloudy afternoon indoors. You can find this set here on the JoAnn web site.

JoAnn Fabric and Fablab

JoAnn has some fun DIY Halloween craft components this year. Dragon eyes in 2 sizes.

Several wood cut outs that you paint. Some of the pieces like this little tombstone come with color changing lights.

Foam heads, hands, skulls, bones, signs, and dress forms. There is a hand out on the foam aisle for making things with the foam pieces.

Pottery Barn Kids Halloween

The painted drops or walls used in the background for the kids costumes caught my eye.

This scene behind the Happy Halloween Banner is one of my favorites with the cats.

We talk about painting a scenic drop for the front porch. Mr. Old Fashion Halloween is a scenic designer and painter. Technically, its probably just me that hopes he wants to paint one. A lot of work but the canvas can be rolled up and stored to use every year. Its already August and I need to decide soon what the big outside project is this year.
